There is nothing wrong if pastors dupe members of their congregation in order to be rich and live the kind of lifestyles they desire, Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi has said.

In response to claims by maverick politician, Kennedy Agyapong that one man churches are avenues pastors dupe their gullible congregants, he said “we don’t take money away. People say the pastors of today like money and are duping their congregation. Everybody dupes the other in this country. If lawyers defend you in court don’t they take money? Dr.Agyemang Duah before he takes care of you there is the need to pay…ask him me Badu Kobi I was in his clinic and had to pay”.

According to him, if you are at Tema port to clear your goods you will be made to pay just like other importers because you are not any different from them.

“Will they ask you to take your goods home without paying duty because you are a pastor? Even at the airport if you do not have a valid ticket you paid for will they allow you?

Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong had earlier stated that  churches especially those run by individuals to be taxed my the government because they are duping gullible Ghanaians and amassing wealth for themselves.

He disclosed that government should not delay in ensuring operators of these religious bodies are made to pay taxes to government since their modus operandi is making money and not really winning souls for Christ

“Ghanaians should listen to me, I believe in God because God created us in his own image but they should stop relying on prayers for prosperity from these pastors because they will only exploit them. I know life is not smooth. Government should tax them. It is saddening to note that these pastors have lied to Ghanaians to the extent that they are refusing to think with the brains given to them by God. We are solely dependent on pastors these days”, he revealed.
