Hearts rallied to win the game after falling behind in the first half to Avornyo. The lanky striker pounced on a rebound to score the game’s first goal.
But Caleb Amankwah smashed home the equaliser on the stroke of halftime as the first 45 minutes ended 1-1. Hearts improved after the break and were rewarded in the 60th minute when Barnieh directed a well-timed cross by Awako into the net.
Eight minutes later, Bechem’s woes were exacerbated when their star player, Augustine Okrah, was sent off for head-butting assitant referee. Hearts held on to win the trophy for the 12th time. As a result of winning the trophy,Hearts will compete in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
