Africa-Press – Ghana. Plan B FM has officially launched the fourth edition of its Inter-Community Soccer Gala, an annual tournament that unites communities in and around the Greater Accra Region in competitive football matches.
This annual event, a foundation of Plan B FM’s corporate social responsibility, aims to boost community spirit and discover local football talents.
This year’s tournament will feature 32 competing teams, with matches scheduled to take place on weekends only between August 23 and September 14, 2025.
The tournament-winning team is set to receive a mega trophy, medals, a set of jerseys, and a cash prize, whereas the second- and third-placed teams would also be rewarded, along with participation prizes for all 32 teams.
Madam Comfort Aniagyei, the Chief Executive Officer of Free Minds Communication Company Limited and Plan B FM, speaking at the launch, expressed gratitude to the past participants and urged the competing teams to give their best to make the tournament a success.
Madam Aniagyei emphasized the role of the tournament in unearthing and supporting young talents and ensuring fair competition.
She further called on stakeholders to support the station in its drive to ensure that the grassroots of football are well developed and young talents are adequately equipped.
Mr Kudjoe Fianoo, the Chief Executive Officer of Division One football club Accra Great Olympics, serving as the special guest at the launch, lauded the tournament initiative by the media house.
Mr. Fianoo encouraged players to put in all their professionalism to impress scouts and big clubs, adding, “I will use this opportunity to scout for players for the Accra Great Olympics.”
Mr Frederick Aniagyei, the General Manager of Plan B FM, advised the teams to exhibit true sportsmanship to attract football scouts, promising that this year’s edition would come with more attractive prizes.
The first-round fixtures include Rising Stars versus East Legon United, Express versus Real Tema City, Tema Greatness versus Bankuman, and Too Much Quality versus Emco Professionals.
