Africa-Press – Ghana. Security side, Police Ladies have been crowned champions of the 2024/25 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League after beating Ampem Darkoa by two unanswered goals at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Goals from Jane Ayieyam and Victoria Teye made the difference for the ladies in blue who secured their first-ever premier league title after an impressive season.

With the likes of Comfort Yeboah, Nancy Amoh and Esther Owusu in the line-up, Ampem Darkoa Ladies remained confident playing in a competition they had dominated over the past years.

The Techiman-based side were on top of their game trying to create spaces in between the Police defense with long range shots.

Ampem Darkoa nearly had that all-important breakthrough, but their effort was overturned after the referee’s review.

Ayieyam was right on time to slot in a beautiful ball inside the 18-yard-box to get Police Ladies ahead in the 27th minute.

The hunger for an equalizer continued for Ampem Darkoa Ladies who failed to make a difference in the first half.

The leading side came into the second half with full energy to increase the woes of their opponents.

Comfort Yeboah, a key player for Ampem Darkoa kept sending in crosses hoping to pin down the security side.

The game, played under heavy downpour, saw both teams press for a win to cap a successful campaign.

Victoria Williams sealed the win with a superb goal in the 89th minute to give Police Ladies a 2-0 win over a dominant foe.
