President Mahama Hosts Accra Reset Event in Addis Ababa

Africa-Press – Ghana. President John Dramani Mahama will on Saturday, February 14, host an Accra Reset side event in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, ahead of the official opening of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

A statement issued by the Presidency said the side event, dubbed “Addis Reckoning,” is expected to bring together several continental leaders, as well as Chief Executives of private sector institutions and multilateral organisations.

The statement noted that discussions would focus on a new framework for free movement and talent circulation in Africa supported by a digital passport; technological innovations to enhance value addition in Africa’s mineral sector; reforms in global health governance and institutions; and partnerships between African nations and Global South pacesetters on harnessing artificial intelligence.

Other leaders on the Accra Reset Presidential Council, including key champions of the Sovereign Prosperity Spheres concept, are also expected to join President Mahama at the event.
