President Mahama Launches National Apprenticeship Programme

Africa-Press – Ghana. President John Dramani Mahama has formally launched the National Apprenticeship Programme in Tamale, in fulfilment of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto promise to open job opportunities for young people and opportunities to have hands-on skills to be employable.

President Mahama said participants in the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) would benefit from practical training, monthly stipends, and apprenticeship support packages comprising tools and equipment to assist them transition into productive work or start their own businesses.

The president said five per cent of NAP beneficiaries would be PWDs, and 45 per cent, women.

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale to officially launch the National Apprenticeship Programme.

Tamale, April 30, GNA – All is set for President Mahama to formally launch the National Apprentiship Programme (NAP) in Tamale.

The NAP is a flagship initiative of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government aimed at tackling youth unemployment through technical and vocational skills development. It forms a core part of the administration’s job creation and human capital development strategy.
