Africa-Press – Ghana. The countdown to the 2025 Absa Black Star Marathon is still on, with athletes confirming their participation in Ghana’s premier road-running event.
Registration has opened for athletes and organisations who intend to compete in the event; the deadline for registration is set for Monday, June 30, 2025.
This year’s marathon features several race categories, including the 42.2 km marathon for men and women, the 42.2 km racing wheelchair marathon, the 10 km run/walk/jog, and the 10 km wheelchair race.
There would be attractive cash prizes for the top athletes in every category, with over 200 medals to be given to athletes who cross the finish line.
Athletes would be given certificates of participation as well as goodie bags stuffed with gifts from sponsors of the marathon.

This year’s marathon, headlined by Absa Bank Ghana, is being partnered by Japan Motors, Silver Star Towers, Ghana Tourism Development Company, National Sports Authority, Sunseekers Tours, CallPrint, among others.
