Africa-Press – Ghana. Racing Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku has been left delighted with his ‘dream’ derby goal against AS Monaco.
The central defender scored a spectacular bicycle kick as Strasbourg secured a 1-0 victory at home against Monaco last Sunday.
And the 27-year-old Ghana international says he saw the goal in his dreams.
“Frankly, I saw this goal in my dreams and today it’s reality,” Djiku said.
“It’s very good because it gives victory to the team. anecdote, yesterday (Saturday) in training, with assistant coach Mathieu Le Scornet, he gave me two or three small balls to relive the situation in Reims where I took the ball back from the knee. There I put two-three volleys and when I scored the goal, I told him that it was thanks to him.”
The Ghanaian was named in the French Ligue 1 team of the weekfollowing his devastating performance over the weekend by L’Équipe.
Djiku has been in outstanding form this season in the Ligue 1 have made 22 appearances and finding the back of the net once.
