A quick note to Hon. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings – To demand that her father be buried at the Asomdwee Park

13

It is still not too late, for the family of former President Rawlings, and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to walk out of a trap, designed to permanently keep out Jerry Rawlings’ many admirers (from across Ghana, the continent of Africa, and from other parts of the world), from being able to congregate in large numbers, at his last resting place, in future. Yoooooooo…

Hon. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, you who are the torchbearer, of your great father’s legacy, think about this: Between the Asomdwee Park, and the Burma Camp Military Cemetary, which will be easier for the world to gather to honour the memory of your father, in great numbers? Yooooooo…

Ohemaa Paaapabi, do not allow them to deliberately hide the last resting place, of a hugely-popular hero-of-the-masses, who took Ghana back, from the grasping hands, of the political ancestors, of many of today’s greed-filled powerful-thieves-in-high-places, amongst our ruling-élites, and gave it back to ordinary folk, ooooo. If transferred to the military, Asomdwee Park will be renovated within a week – and kept well-maintained forever – becoming a very popular tourist spot, too, because the legendary-hero Flt. Lt. Jerry Rawlings, lies there. Yooooooo…

Let them bury him at the Asomdwee Park, and he will bless your courage, in saving him, from the ignominy of being buried, at a resting-place, where ceremonies to honour him, in future, by his mamy admirers, will be next to impossible – the whole point of the devilish-strategy, of his many secret-and-envious-enemies, now shedding crocodile tears copiously. Yoooooooo…

Ohemaa Paaapabi, I implore you, again, to stop a great Ghanaian leader, from being hidden in a Burma Camp Military Cemetary, permanently. I speak humbly, as the first local journalist (a lowly staff writer, at Kabral Blay-Amihere’s ‘The Independent,’ with Egbert Faibille, then as publisher), whom your great father spoke to, after leaving office in 2000. Up close, one saw his amazing charisma, and the hold he then had, over his party’s bigwigs.

Although he had many faults (and what normal living human being hasn’t, I ask?), on balance, former President Rawlings, by all standards, was a remarkable servant-leader – which is why, as his torchbearer, Hon. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, must demand that her great father, is buried at the Asomdwee Park, and always be easily accessible to his many admirers, till the very end of time – instead of allowing him to be cunningly hidden, by his hypocritical-secret-enemies, in a Burma Camp Military Cemetary. May his soul rest in peace. Hmmmm, life…
