World Cup qualifiers: South Africa announce 23-man squad for Ghana, Zimbabwe games

Head coach of the South Africa male senior national team, Hugo Broos has finalized a 23-man squad for their FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Zimbabwe and Ghana in September.

Nicknamed the Bafana Bafana, the side has missed out on the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament after placing third in a Group that had the Black Stars.

Pitted in Group G of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, South Africa is burdened with dealing with Ghana again.

Keen on overcoming the might of the West African national team, the Bafana Bafana will hope to excel under new head coach Hugo Broos next month.

Today, the gaffer has announced a 23-man squad he will be using for upcoming qualifying matches against Zimbabwe and Ghana in the first week of September.

While the game against Zimbabwe will be played on September 2, the encounter with Ghana is scheduled to be played in Johannesburg on September 6.
