Africa-Press – Ghana. Deeper Christian life begins with the regeneration of attitude that entails a radical supernatural transformation of conduct, Pastor Isaac Amankwah, Nkawie District Pastor of the Deeper Life Christian Ministry (DLCM), has said.
He said many “believers struggle to experience that victory, because they don’t fully understand how it empowers them to overcome daily sins even though they claim to be saved, whilst some believe that by their church membership, activities and display of talents, they are born again.”
Preaching the sermon at a five-day 11- district annual Easter retreat held at Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, elaborated on sincere acknowledgement as a sinner, deep conviction and sorrow of sin, confession and repentance, faith in the atonement and the decision to forsake sins, as meaningful steps to regeneration.
He urged members to maintain their victory over sin by avoiding the desires of the flesh that could drag them into fornication, drunkenness, gambling among others, by dwelling with the Holy spirit through prayer, the word of God, obedience, overcoming temptation and growing, as well as yielding to the spirit.
“Regeneration is the gateway to a victorious life that changes our nature, breaks the power of sin and empowers us to live for Christ” he added.
Pastor Amankwah quoted Titus 3:5, second Corinthians 5:17, John 3:3, Ephesians 2:1-8, Psalm 51:1-7, Isaiah 59:1, Galatians 5:6 and other Biblical instances to illustrate his sermon.
The programme was themed: “Experiencing the Power of His Resurrection” and was aimed at inspiring 2000 members in the children, youth, campus (tertiary students) and adult departments within the Abuakwa, Sepaase, Afari, Akropong, Nyinahin, Foase, Manhyia, Achiase, Toase, Nkawie and Mpasatia districts of the church.
