Africa-Press – Kenya. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis has showered Kenya with praises for being politically stable.

Speaking at State House on Tuesday, Iohannis said that Kenya was outstanding in the East Africa region.

“Kenya is an example of political stability and democratic transition in Eastern Africa. Moreover, the economic, financial transformational and development hub for the entire region,” Iohannis said.

The Romanian Head of State also commended Ruto and Kenya at large for the role they have taken in climate change conversations.

He explained that from the consultations held at State House with Ruto, they have both reconfirmed to have discussions on similar topics.

“We have joint topics of interest and similar positions towards current global concerns and challenges. So we have agreed to develop cooperation in areas of an essential role in Romania and Kenya such as protecting the environment and addressing climate change, civil protection, education, and green energy,” Iohannis added.

Kenya and Romania signed four major Memorandum of Understanding.

The signing took place at State House.

President Ruto said that together with his counterpart, they took note of the long cordial relationship that exists between Kenya and Romania.

“I’m confident that the implementation of the four MoUs will escalate into an effective partnership in areas of focus and create conditions for Kenya and Romania to expand the scope of collaboration to cover even more sectors,” he said.

Iohannis is on an African tour where he will be visiting four African countries.

According to the Presidential Administration of Romania, President Iohannis will visit Kenya, Tanzania, Cabo Verde, and Senegal between November 14-23.
