Africa-Press – Kenya. The 2024 Football Kenya Federation Women’s Cup draw is set to take place on Friday, January 26, at the Kenya Institute of Special Education starting from 11 a.m.
A total of 22 teams will make the draw.
This includes eight from the Premier League, four that ply trade in the second-tier Super League, six from the Division One category and four from regional and county cadres.
10 teams will be slotted into the round of 16 while the remaining 12 will be drawn into the preliminary rounds to earn their spot in the round of 16.
It will be aired LIVE on the FKF and FKF Women’s Cup Facebook Pages.
The finals are slated to be played on June 16, 2024.
Ulinzi Starlets successfully defended their title last year in June after defeating Nakuru City Queens 3-1 in the second edition of the annual championship.
The match at Nyayo Stadium on June 4, saw Mercy Airo bag a brace for the soldiers. Experienced striker Neddy Akoth sealed the emphatic victory, rendering Merceline Wafula’s strike a consolation.
Ulinzi pocketed Sh500,000 while Nakuru got half the prize. Third-placed Kibera Soccer Ladies took home Sh100,000.
