Kenyatta University Referral Hospital Opens Hospitality Centre

Africa-Press – Kenya. The Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) has officially opened its hospitality centre to the public, offering enhanced accommodation and wellness services to both local and international guests. The facility aims to support not just patients but also caregivers, medical tourists, and visitors attending conferences.

Started in 2021, the hospitality centre was designed to offer quality housekeeping and restaurant services.

The hospitality centre provides local and regional patients and those accompanying them a safe and comfortable place to stay.

The Centre features single rooms, double rooms, mini suites which accommodate two persons and two-bedroom apartments that accommodate up to five persons.

The rooms are available at unusually affordable rates of Sh1,500 for single rooms, Sh2,500 for twin rooms and Sh3,000 for a mini suite.

The centre has a gym, a health club and a restaurant.

It caters to individuals seeking comfort during hospital visits or business engagements. The restaurant offers excellent meals of one’s choice, catering to diverse preferences.

The acting in charge at the facility Lucy Mugambi said the facility can also accommodate people coming for conferencing.

“The facility was set for accommodation purposes for people from outside the country, as well as our local guests. It is a facility that is open to the public and especially accommodates the people who come to see their patients,” Mugambi said.

Bobby Gichogi, the hospitality centre supervisor said the facility also features two-bedroom units that can comfortably accommodate up to four people.

“You can have a microwave, a fridge, and a cooking range. We provide you with the utensils,” Gichogi explained.

The centre is built to ensure a “home away from home” experience for all visitors.

Whether one is a caregiver or visitor, the facility provides top-tier amenities such as a fully equipped gym, high-speed internet, assorted dining options, and comfortable rooms with room service.

Paris Kimani, the executive housekeeper, affirmed this vision.

“We can accommodate about 100 people. We have mini suites, large singles, and we have apartments. We have different prices which are friendly,” Kimani said.

KUTRRH is known for its advanced medical services, including PET scan, CyberKnife services, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy.

The addition of the hospitality wing complements the hospital’s mission of holistic healing, making the journey to wellness smoother and more restful.

The opening of the centre reflects the hospital’s continued commitment to quality service, patient dignity, and creating a supportive healing environment.

It also positions KUTRRH as not just a leading medical institution, but also a hub for medical tourism and hospitality.
