Africa-Press – Kenya. The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will begin the Coast region leg of its Linda Ground tour on Wednesday, February 11, with a series of high-level meetings and public engagements across six counties.

According to the party’s itinerary, the tour will start with a morning National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, followed by a meeting between the party leader and Coast delegates in the afternoon.

The opening day is expected to set the tone for the regional mobilisation drive as ODM seeks to consolidate support and strengthen grassroots structures.

On Thursday, February 12, party leader Oburu Oginga will visit Lamu County for a morning engagement, followed by meetings in Witu at midday and Garsen in the afternoon.

ODM director of communications Philip Etale said the tour will continue on Friday, February 13, with stops in Magarini in the morning, Pwani University at midday, and Mariakani later in the afternoon.

On Saturday, February 14, the delegation will hold engagements across Taita Taveta and Kwale counties, starting in Taveta in the morning, followed by Voi at midday and Ukunda in the afternoon.

The Coast tour will conclude on Sunday, February 15, with Oburu attending a church service in the morning before addressing supporters at a rally in Tononoka later in the day.

ODM began the ‘Linda Ground’ county tours on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Malaba, Busia County, followed by a second stop in Kakamega town on January 18.

The party unveiled the initiative, dubbed “Operation Linda Ground,” on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Kamukunji Grounds in Kibra Constituency, Nairobi.

The initiative was led by Homa Bay Governor and ODM Chairperson Gladys Wanga, alongside party leader Oburu Oginga.

Residents thronged the streets to join the party leadership at Kamukunji Grounds, which has hosted most of the late Raila Odinga’s major political events.

Oburu reaffirmed that ODM will focus on consolidating unity ahead of future political negotiations and has no intention of expelling any members. He said the party’s strength lies in its internal cohesion and its position as the largest political party in the country.

Speaking at Kamukunji Grounds, Oburu emphasised that ODM must engage prospective coalition partners from a position of strength.

He noted that the party would leverage its size, nationwide structures, and history to build a strong political front, as was the case during former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s tenure.

“As ODM, we must prepare ourselves, and that can only be achieved when we are together. We have no desire to chase anyone from ODM. If anyone wants to leave, they should do so willingly,” Oburu said.

“As long as we have unity, we shall negotiate with other parties from a point of strength and not weakness. We are the biggest party in the country, and we cannot approach the negotiating table when we are weak.”
