Africa-Press – Kenya. Financial crisis has rocked Bunyore Starlets as they prepare for the Kenya Women Premier League kickoff next weekend.
Head coach Daniel Arunga said the team currently is between a rock and a hard place due to insufficient funds.
“We have been forced to relocate from our initial training ground at Mumboha to Ebusiratsi School to cut on transport costs,” said Arunga.
The tactician is appealing to wellwishers to chip in and help the newly-promoted team to stabilise financially as they head for their maiden season in the top tier.
Bunyore Starlets are scheduled to open their campaign with a clash against Wadadia at Mumias grounds.
“We have prepared well for the match including bringing in some addition and it is our hope that we are going to get a favourable result against Wadadia in our opening match,” Arunga observed.
Among the new signings are Noel Shirachilo (Eldoret), Lilian Adera (Vihiga), Bracsides Itambi, Fadhila Sumba, goalkeeper Ivy Makokha (Nyuki), Diana Musivilivi (Wiyeta), Maureen Khakasa (Tranzoia), Maureen Achieng (unattached) and Rachael Nanjala (Royal).
