Africa-Press – Kenya. A rampant Australia team put Shujaa to the sword, winning 40-14 in the quarterfinals of the Los Angeles Sevens on Sunda.

Kenya were quick off the blocks with Alvin Otieno scoring the opener and Sammy Oliech converting for a 7-0 lead. Australia responded with Matthew Gonzalez crossing the line and Dietrich Roach tying the score.

Shujaa skipper Nelson Oyoo was sent to the sin bin for a cynical foul and the Aussies cashed on this with playmaker Maurice Longbottom crashing over the line with Roach converting for a 14-7 lead at the interval.

On resumption, the slick Aussie outfit continued with their dominance Henry Patterson who scoring a brace alongside Josh Turner and Corey Toole to give them a 40-7 lead. Jeff Oluoch scored a late consolation try for Shujaa but it was too little, too late.
