Look for ways to accommodate Kalonzo, Kirwa tells Ruto

Africa-Press – Kenya. Former UDA vice chairman Kipruto Arap Kirwa has said President-elect William Ruto should consider looking for ways to accommodate Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Kirwa said Kalonzo has a mass following and would help Ruto balance and strengthen his support countrywide.

Kalonzo is affiliated with Azimio One Kenya Coalition.

“Ruto, as he is today, as a two-legged stool, one in Rift Valley and Mt Kenya but the third leg, is a bit hazy, he did not command a strong following in Western Kenya,” he said.

“If I were him or one of his strategists, I would have almost looked for a way of accommodating Kalonzo. He has a strong team of more than three governors and senators and more than 25 MCAs.”

Kirwa said if Ruto commanded a good number of voters from the Eastern region, he wouldn’t struggle with the small margin between him and Raila.

“He had presence generally in Coast but had he gotten a strong support from Eastern, Kalonzo’s backyard, he wouldn’t need to struggle with the small difference between him and Raila,” he said.

Kirwa said five years is a small duration in the political world. They can change a region that was a backyard to become a battleground.

“Politics in Kenya is dynamic,” he said.
