Africa-Press – Kenya. President-elect William Ruto has cautioned members of the National Assembly to be careful in their dealings before the speaker’s seat election.

Speaking during a meeting at his Karen residence on Wednesday, Ruto said they have a bigger margin and they should not take that for granted and watch their movements as a slight mistake might get them arrested.

“Be careful, they could even possibly arrest some of you people just to reduce our numbers, we are dealing with a very desperate lot,” he said.

Ruto said their opponents tried to subvert the will of the people and would do anything to have the positions.

“People who can use the National Security Advisory Committee to try and overturn the will of the people they can do worse,” he said.

He said their opponents are desperate and might try foul play to see their numbers reduced.

“We have a good margin of about 11 members in the National Assembly, we have other members who are not seating here but they will vote for us,” he said.

Kenya Kwanza fronted Ford leader Moses Wetang’ula for the National Assembly Speaker and former Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi as Senate Speaker.

Azimio fronted Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for the Senate speaker seat and former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende for the Speaker position.
