Africa-Press – Kenya. As many would have expected it, and which is the norm for politicians to roll in big and expensive cars, Kilifi North MP Owen Baya is today an exception.
Most MPs are chauffeured in SUVs but Owen arrived in Parliament in a saloon car.
“I’m in a small car because I’m a hustler, I come in the hustler way,” he said on Thursday.
Owen said he was looking forward to the National Assembly and Senate Speaker elections.
“We are here to elect the Speaker and we will elect Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula and Gladys Shollei as the deputy,” he said.
Members of Parliament are currently being sworn in and their first order of the day will be to elect the Speakers.
Kenya Kwanza fronted Ford leader Moses Wetang’ula for the National Assembly Speaker and former Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi as Senate Speaker.
Azimio fronted Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for the Senate speaker seat and former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende for the Speaker position.
