Ruto will run government using technocrats - Mutahi Ngunyi

Africa-Press – Kenya. Former technical assistant to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that President William Ruto will run his government using technocrats.

According to Ngunyi, Ruto’s cabinet nominees will be supported by competent Principal secretaries like it was during the tenure of the late president Mwai Kibaki.

He insisted that the president is moving too fast for Kenya’s political diagnosis, and people should not waste their time on the ongoing vetting of Cabinet Secretary nominees.

“He will run the government using technocrats. Don’t waste your time on CS vetting,” Ngunyi said on Wednesday.

So far, only 10 of the 22 cabinet nominees have been vetted by the National Assembly Committee on Appointments.

Of the 10, the poorest is worth Sh100 million while the wealthiest is worth Sh4 billion as declared before the vetting committee.

In an earlier statement, Ngunyi who supported Azimio la Umoja in the August 9 General election said the CS nominees were inspired by stories of poor people who became millionaires.

He added that Hustlers despise poor leaders.

“To be fair to Ruto’s cabinet nominees, Hustlers despise poor leaders. They are inspired by stories of poor people who become millionaires. And to them, the end justifies the means. This is the painful truth for earthlings. Take it or leave it. I agree with David Ndii.”
