Africa-Press – Kenya. Black Mamba face General Service Unit in a cracking Kenya Handball Federation league match at Nyayo Stadium today (Thursday).

A win for the Kaloleni-based side, who are third, will push them to joint top with leaders National Cereals and Produce Board and Ulinzi on 22 points.

Strathmore University who are in fifth place will take on Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Spartans, who are lying at the bottom of the 19-team league, will play inspired.

In the women’s category, Daystar University have two matches on the card against New Hope and Kenyatta University as Rising Stars meet JKUAT.

Meanwhile, University of Eldoret (UOE) ‘Pippers’ captain Cheleget Hill said the team have made gains playing in the league

He observed that playing in the league inspires and motivates the side which will be a plus when it comes to university games.

The team, he noted, is working hard to improve their defense and once this is fixed they expect to post good results in their coming fixtures.

“We have a problem on our defence so we shall be trying to work hard to improve on that.” He said.

Determination, hard work in training, and discipline will see the “Pippers” prosper.

He said that despite the Eldoret side winning only two of their ten matches played so far, they have made good strides.

“Compared to the first second and third matches, there are improvements even though we have managed to win only two games.”

Hill revealed that they have lost games that they probably would have won

“We lost to the Young City, a game we were supposed to win. We also lost to Desert Scorpions and Boomerang due to our mistakes.”

UOE lost three games going down 34-23 to GSU, 45-26 to Rangers, and 38-28 to Boomerang before beating Inspired 40-37.
