Africa-Press – Kenya. President William Ruto has called upon all elected leaders in Kenya to start working towards shaping a better country.

Speaking at the Mashujaa Day celebrations on Thursday, he said regardless of the political alignment, leaders must put the interest of Kenyans first .

“Those who have been elected must shape this country into a safe and secure future,” Ruto said.

After he was sworn in last month, the President said he will strive to lead not only the 7.2 million Kenyans who voted for him, but all Kenyans.

Ruto has emphasised that he is a President of all and his government will serve all Kenyans.

“I thank God for making the child of a simple Kenyan to be the president of the Republic of Kenya. I thank millions of Kenyans who woke up early of 9th August to vote for me and many other elected leaders,” he added.
