Africa-Press – Kenya. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has insisted that their government only wants to be told the truth.
Speaking on Monday during the launch of the Kenya Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program, the DP said they want to be told the truth and they will take it positively.
He went on to state that retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government was full of people who only praised him.
The second-in-command added that they have done away with the team he referred to as a ‘praise and worship choir’.
“The previous government had a choir called praise and worship. Their work was just to praise and worship. We have dismantled that choir. For us, we want the truth,” Gachagua said.
“When we engage in that roundtable conference with you, please look at the president and tell him, ‘here you are off the mark. Here you are doing the right thing and here you can change.’ He will take it positively.”
“The only praise and worship team we want to come across is in church on Sunday,” he added.
He reiterated that his interest and that of President William Ruto is to serve Kenyans.
Gachagua said that they were not after creating wealth for themselves.
“I have said many times and people think I’m joking… We are not looking for wealth. We are just available to serve 24/7,” he said.
