Two women charged with fighting over customer freed on bail

Africa-Press – Kenya. Two women were on Monday charged before a Milimani court for fighting over a customer. Sarah Luyemba and Vivian Agutu denied the charge of affray after they were accused of allegedly fighting over a customer.

It is alleged that on September 10 this year along Moi Avenue in Nairobi, they willfully took part in a fight in a public area. According to police records, the two women were at their shops when the incident happened.

It is alleged that a customer approached one of the ladies’ shop but the other lady started pulling the customer towards her shop which ended up in the two women fighting.

Chief Magistrate Wendy Michemi inquired from them about the reason why they were fighting. They told the court that the economy is tough and that’s why they were fighting over a customer.

Mucheru directed the two to settle the matter out of court. They were released on a Sh 5,000 cash bail. The case will be mentioned on November 5 for further directions.
