Africa-Press – Kenya. The new Kisumu All Stars technical bench has been challenged to steer the club back to the Kenya Premier League.

“Their target is simple. Take us back to the Kenya Premier League,” said the club’s chief executive officer, Nicholas Ochieng.

Ochieng announced the appointment of Andrew Aroka as the head coach. This is Aroka’s third stint at the club having served as an assistant coach and head coach previously.

Aroka takes over from John Oketch who parted ways with the club following the conclusion of last season.

Former defender Francis Oduor also makes a comeback as an assistant coach alongside Charles Bruno. Mabone Mabone is the new goalkeeping coach and takes over from Gady Kawuondi.

At the same time, National Super League side Shabana’s long-serving team manager Elijah Sani has left the Kisii-based club.

Club secretary Elizaphan Kerama said Sani left the club to pursue other interests. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors. We are currently looking for a new team manager,” said Kerama.

He said they are planning to revamp the club’s management structure.

“We shall introduce positions of chief executive officer, board of directors, director strategy and marketing among other positions,” he added.

He also announced that the club is planning to sign five more players.

“We have already signed some players and retained others who were with us last season. I will give the names once the exercise is concluded. We want to have a competitive team ahead of last season,” added Kerama.
