Africa-Press – Kenya. Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) league resumed this weekend with a total of 12 matches on the card.

The league took a break due to national teams’ engagement in the International Handball Federation (IHF) youth tournament in Nairobi.

Kenya youngsters bagged a bronze medal in the Under-18 tournament won by Burundi while Rwanda lifted the U-20 title.

The focus will be on the University of Eldoret ‘Pippers’ who travel to the city for four tight matches.

UoE face reigning champions and leaders National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), who are unbeaten in 13 matches, in their first match.

They also play Black Mamba who are in third, Buccaneers and complete their fixture against Nairobi City County (NCC) who are number 12.

UoE captain Cheleget Hill said it will be a tough weekend but they are targeting to win at least two games and go down by a small margin in case of a loss.

“It will be a tough weekend for us since we will be playing serious games. But we will try our best,” he noted.

“A team like NCPB are unbeaten, Buccaneers have a strong defence while Black Mamba have players with experience as compared to us.”

‘Pippers’ have so far won only two of the 10 games they have played but they are convinced they are on the right course.
