Africa-Press – Kenya. Kenya Airline Pilot Association(KALPA) has urged the Kenya Airways management to negotiate with an open mind.

The call came even as the industrial action hit its third day since it began on Saturday.

Through a statement, KALPA’s General Secretary and CEO Capt. Muriithi Nyagah said that the association is making all attempts to have a conversation with KQ management to come to an agreement.

“Despite all their non-committal actions to resolve the stalemate, we urge the KQ management to come to the table and negotiate with an open mind,” he said.

Nyagah further said that the members only want KQ to honour the agreement already in place for them to get back to work.

“We have not asked for improved terms of service, we only demand that KQ management honours the agreement already in place.”

The Association has also revealed that they have been in contact with the labour CS in regard to the strike, and scheduled a meeting for Monday.

“The Labour CS graciously agreed to convene a meeting today, that will bring all the concern parties together.”
