Africa-Press – Kenya. Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) coach Daniel Bor wants his charges to capitalize on their rivals’ weaknesses as they seek to qualify for the playoffs.

The sleuths have their work cut out with Nairobi Prisons, Kenya Commercial Bank and Kenya Defence Forces waiting for them in the fourth leg this Friday at Mombasa’s Makande Hall.

Their adversaries Kenya Prisons will be without five of their key players because of family commitments.

On the other hand, African Club Champions KCB will make do without Leonida Kasaya and Sharon Chepchumba while Kenya Pipeline first-choice setter Esther Mutinda will not feature for the Paul Gitau-led oil merchants.

DCI have all their players available for selection and will be banking on the experienced trio of outside hitters Jemimah Siang’u and Sarah Namisi as well as opposite player Marion Indeche who have been recruited to the Police service.

“We are going for nothing short of maximum points in the three fixtures,” Bor bullishly stated.

“Players are in better shape after their title triumph in Tanzania for the Nyerere Cup three weeks ago. It will be tough against KCB but I believe this is the right time to meet them.”

He went on: “Morale is high. Siang’u and Namisi bring the much-needed power which has been lacking previously. Teams are missing their important players and this is the season where new champions could be crowned. We want to be part of the history.”

“Expectations are very high— from the management, fans and everybody associated with the club—but after beating Rwanda’s APR in Tanzania, It is time to prove our prowess locally.”

Bor, however, warned that it is premature to rule out defending champions Kenya Prisons just yet based on their current situation. The wardresses have a boisterous squad capable of winning matches even when all odds are against them.

The fate of the new players who traded clubs in the mid-season transfer window is yet to be brought to light. It remains to be seen whether they can play in the remaining matches after turning out for their previous clubs at the start of the season.

“Fingers crossed…players won’t be restricted to play otherwise we will be forced back to the drawing board.”
