Africa-Press – Kenya. A boda boda rider has been charged with stealing tyres.
Samuel Kimani was charged before Kibera senior principal magistrate Phillip Mutua.
Kimani had been hired by one John Kirugi to take the said tyres to one petrol station for air refilling.
Kirugi passed by the supermarket to get sugar but when he came out Kimani was missing. He did not take the tyres to the petrol station.
He committed the offence on October 30 at the Uthiru Cooperations area in Dagoretti.
Kirugi reported the matter to the police, leading to the arrest of Kimani.
Kimani denied the charges and pleaded for a lenient bond term.
He was granted a cash bail of Sh20,000 with a surety of the same amount.
The matter will be mentioned on November 23 for further directions.
