Africa-Press – Kenya. Members of Parliament affiliated to the Jubilee party have threated to quit the Azimio camp over Parliamentary Service Commission positions.
The MPs have accused ODM of violating the Azimio coalition agreements to share the three slots for PSC position.
Laikipia North MP Sarah Korere said that they will walk out of Azimio if Jubilee party is mistreated.
“We were not coerced to join ODM in Azimio, we joined willingly and if they mistreat Jubilee members we will leave willingly because we have experienced firsthand the conmanship, politics of deceit, and political banditry by our brothers in Azimio” she said.
Nominated MP Sabina Chege added that Jubilee, Wiper and ODM should each present one name for the PSC position.
“We want Jubilee to have a slot whether in the National Assembly or the Senate and also the Wiper and ODM party. We would not want the position of the Jubilee party to be taken by any other political party,” she said.
Eldas MP Adan Keynan said they will be holding a meeting to decide on the way forward.
“After ODM we are the second largest party in the coalition, so it is not something that we are begging, it’s our right, so we are asking the Azimio leadership to fast track these,” he said.
“Call for a meeting and allow Jubilee to nominate a candidate to the PSC because we are not going to be flower girls to anybody.”
