Public Service and Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa left the audience in stitches after he addressed Ruto as Deputy President.
“Mimi nataka nichukue nafasi hii kwanza kabisa nimshukuru Naibu wa…,” she stopped as laughter followed.
A snippet of Ruto’s reaction after Jumwa’s remarks showed the President also bursting out into laughter.

Jumwa was quick to apologise saying her slip of the tongue was because she was used to calling Ruto, the Deputy President for a long time.
“Samahani, kunradhi, tumeishi naye kama naibu wa rais sana,” she said.
She thanked Ruto for giving her an opportunity to serve in the Cabinet.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the president for electing me to be a minister in the Cabinet,” she said.
“It is a great honour that he has given Coastal citizens an opportunity, even though I am not a coastal CS, I am the minister of Kenya, when I took the oath of office I swore to be the CS for the whole country.”
Ruto was the DP from 2013-2022 and became the fifth president on August 9, general elections.
This might be a reason for Jumwa’s slip of the tongue, maybe she has not gotten used to addressing Ruto, President.
