Africa-Press – Kenya. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission CEO Twalib Mbarak met FBI officials at their headquarters in Washington DC. According to a statement released by EACC, the discussion was held in December 2022 which included exploring opportunities to deepen cooperation in the fight against corruption and economic crimes in Kenya.
“The discussions were centred around enhancing technical support in the investigation and prosecution of complex corruption cases, ” the statement read.
They also discussed capacity building for key actors in the criminal justice sector and support in the acquisition of modern investigative tools in the country.
FBI affirmed its commitment to working closely with EACC, ODPP and other key actors to reduce the prevalence of corruption and illicit financial flows in Kenya. The officials were led by Section Chief Timothy Stone. Mbarak also had an opportunity to meet FBI Director Christopher Wray.
