Africa-Press – Kenya. First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto has offered to find a wife for Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi. Speaking in Meru during a Sunday service, Mama Rachel said she will take John Paul to Rift Valley to find him a wife.
“Nilikuwa nimesema kama wasichana wa Meru hawapatikani, nataka nimpeleke huko RiftValley nimtafutie bibi,” she said.
(I had said if women in Meru are not available, I will take him to Rift Valley to find him a wife)
She jokingly urged John Paul to hasten the move so that the members of his constituency can find where to take tea. “Usikae sana, ulichaguliwa ukiwa miaka 23, lakini sasa miaka 29 at least tafuta nyumba,” she said.
(Don’t take too long, you were first elected at 23 years old, and you are now 29 years old, at least look for a house) In the spirit of family, Mama Rachel urged the congregants to focus on matters of family, as it currently threatening by the ongoing debates.
“Family has become an institution that has been very much attacked. If the mother and father are not peacefully together, then the children will have problems,” she said.
“We want to strengthen the family institution where we have a father, a mother and children.”
