Ruto breaks into a run to attend Naivasha rally award ceremony

Africa-Press – Kenya. President William Ruto was spotted running upon arrival in Naivasha for the presentation of awards to the 2023 World Rally Championship winners. Ruto was in the company of Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba and security personnel.

The two were being manned by security personnel who were by their side. People could be heard giving the Head of State directions on which way to go. Earlier, he had attended an interdenominational prayer service in Kajiado Central before heading to Naivasha.

Among the winners of this year’s Safari Rally are Ogier Sébastien, Rovanperä Kalle and Evans Elfyn. The event attracted more than 100,000 visitors, and it was anticipated that it would create job opportunities worth Sh24.7 billion.

The Safari Rally took place between Thursday and Sunday, June 25. Ruto had once again caused a stir on social media in August 2022 when he dashed to his helicopter for his last campaign rally in Kiambu.

Then, he was still the Deputy President aspiring to be the President. Ruto ran to catch a flight at the Wilson Airport in Nairobi that was headed for Kiambu.

He had come from another rally in Nyayo stadium and rushed to the airport to get to the Kiambu rally in time. In a video shared on social media platforms, Ruto was spotted running along the runway as he rushed towards a waiting chopper.
