Africa-Press – Kenya. Isiolo Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo has nominated three members to serve on the Isiolo County Public Service Board. In a letter to county assembly speaker Roba Qoto, Guyo said the three names were arrived at after satisfying a selection panel.
“Following the recommendations by the selection panel for the recruitment of three members of the county public service board, I hereby nominate the following persons to serve on the board and forward their names for vetting and subsequent approval by the county assembly,” the letter dated July 6, 2023, reads.
The three; Jillo Karayu, Joseph Mwangi Komu and Angelina Naro if approved by the county assembly, will replace the members who quit the board for politics before the August 2022 elections
The Isiolo County public service board is meant to have six members with Ahmed Boru Shone as the chairman of the board while Mohamed Abdulah Abdi serves as the Secretary.
“I have full confidence in them and I believe they will help us streamline public service and serve residents diligently,” Guyo noted. The functions of the board include establishing and abolishing offices in the County Public Service.
The board also appoints persons to hold or act in the office of the Public Further, county offices including the boards of urban areas within the county and confirm appointments.
The board also advises the county government on human resource management and development as well as implementation and monitoring of the national performance management system in the county.
Other duties include preparing regular reports for submission to the county assembly on the execution of the functions of the board. Also, the board promotes in the county public service the values and principles referred to in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
