Africa-Press – Kenya. Nyahururu Country golf club pair of George Munene and Jesse Mugo were the winners of the second leg of International pairs qualifiers played at their backyard over the weekend.
Taking home advantage, the duo defeated their club mates Chege Macharia and Dennis Kigundu on countback for the title after garnering 45 Stableford points.
The win also granted the duo a place in the grand finale that will be played on September 1.
The pairs of John Koskei & Moses Koskei, Irene Wamithi & Luula Margaret and Jane Wanjeri & Susan Hiuko all played 43 points to close the top 5 winning pairs, also securing slots for the grand finale.
The top three pairs in the grand finale win a fully paid golfing trip to Portugal for the world finals.
The global show will be held at Royal Spa & Golf Resort and Bom Sucesso Resort, Portugal from November 6-10.
The next event is set for Kericho Golf Club on July 22.
This will be followed by 5 more qualifier events at Great Rift Valley Golf Resort, Nyali , Windsor, Nakuru and VetLab Sports Club.
