Police, protesters clash in Kisumu during Azimio demos

Africa-Press – Kenya. Police and protesters in Kisumu on Wednesday engaged in running battles during the Azimio demonstrations.

The protests started as early as 8 am when Kisumu residents lit bonfires.

There was a heavy police presence to keep vigilance and avert any violent demonstrations.

Some protesters led peaceful demos while marching along Makasembo Road.

They were led by Kisumu Central MP Joshua Oron accompanied by other local leaders.

Police lobbed teargas to disperse protesters who hurled stones at them.

A protester donning a pink towel has once again been spotted in Kisumu anti-government protests, this time he is accompanied by a minor also wearing a towel.

Police were seen engaging the man as he walked holding the minor’s hands, the minor he said is his son.
