Africa-Press – Kenya. President William Ruto’s address in Isiolo was briefly halted on Thursday after residents started chanting “Hatutaki maandamano.” The president was on his way to launch the newly constructed Isiolo-Marsabit-Addis Ababa Highway.
Soon after the chants began, Ruto joined in asking the Isiolo residents, “Ati Isiolo mumesema aje? (What have you said Isiolo?)” The residents responded with intensified chants of the same.
Before the chants began, Ruto had said that the people of Kenya had made clear their stand against people causing chaos in the country. He added that they had also made clear what they want in relation to the destruction of property.
“The people of Kenya have spoken loudly that they do not want chaos, anarchy or property to be destroyed. And when the people of Kenya have spoken it is like God has spoken,” Ruto said.
