Africa-Press – Kenya. Three hundred players are expected to converge at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani for the Big Dream Vision camp Saturday.
According to the USA-based Big Dream Vision founder, Ishmael Omondi, there will be scholarship opportunities for the best players.
“Two scholarships are guaranteed, but could go up to five depending on talent,” he said.
The event, which will start with a clinic and be followed by a 10-team tournament, have drawn participants from Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.
Meanwhile, the Under-18 boys and girls team to represent the country in two junior championships will be held at Milimani.
Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) secretary, Ambrose Kisoi, said the first event will be held in Kampala, Uganda in May with the second one set for August in Cairo, Egypt.
Kisoi said the event will be staged at Milimani with the national trials set for Jamhuri High School, Nairobi on May 21 and 22.
“The best 15 boys and girls will be selected for the camp,” Kisoi revealed.
He went on, “Only players born in 2004 and 2005 qualify to participate and the birth certificates must be acquired earlier than January 2021.”
