A number of Ruto CSs not qualified - Lawyer Ahmednasir

Africa-Press – Kenya. Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi opines some of President William Ruto’s Cabinet Secretaries do not qualify for the mandate they were appointed to serve. The Lawyer while acknowledged that though they had spent four months in office, the group of CSs, who did not mention by name, don’t fit the bill.

“27th Oct 2022 is the day H. E Ruto’s cabinet was sworn in…4 months is too short a period to evaluate a cabinet secretary… but spying on the notes and scorecard H.E Ruto is taking must be fascinating. For me, a number is not even qualified to look after my camel in Bangal,” the Lawyer tweeted.

The remarks by Ahmednasir come even as Kenyans feel the pinch of the rising cost of living. Prices of basic goods and services have been on a rising trajectory putting the regime of President Ruto on the spot.

The President has been under fire owing to his campaign model that was premised on addressing the needs of ordinary citizens. Already, the opposition led by ODM leader Raila Odinga has issued a 14-day ultimatum to work on their demands, including lowering the cost of living, failure to which they will start having demonstrations.

The President is banking on his Cabinet secretaries to steer his economic agenda and bring the country’s economic stability on the track. With the rising cost of living, the President has been blaming the former regime saying “They left the country in a mess”.

DP Rigathi Gachagua has often times said that they inherited a dilapidated economy even as he asked Kenyans to be patient so that they fix the economy.
