Africa-Press – Kenya. The wait is finally over. The 2025-26 UEFA Champions League kicks off from Tuesday, and once again Africa will be heavily represented on Europe’s biggest stage. From household names to exciting rising talents, the continent boasts a wealth of players ready to make their mark.

Ghana, Nigeria, Morocco, Algeria, Senegal, Ivory Coast, and beyond will all have their stars on display as they look to inspire their clubs to glory.

Nigeria leads the charge with an impressive contingent that includes Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Raphael Onyedika. Young forward George Ilenikhena and full-back Bruno Onyemaechi are among those adding fresh energy to the Super Eagles’ European presence.

Morocco will also be strongly represented, led by Paris Saint-Germain full-back Achraf Hakimi and creative midfielder Brahim Díaz. Nayef Aguerd, Ayoub El Kaabi, Sofiane Boufal, and exciting youngster Eliesse Ben Seghir are expected to provide plenty of flair and resilience.

From Ghana, Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Iñaki Williams headline a strong cast, joined by defenders Mohammed Salisu and Emmanuel Addai, as well as emerging attackers Mohammed Fuseini and Rayan Aït-Nouri.

Senegal’s golden generation continues to shine, with Nicolas Jackson, Pape Matar Sarr, Ismail Jakobs, and Lamine Camara all set for action. Pape Gueye and young forward Mamadou Thierno Barry add even more depth to the Lions of Teranga’s European flavor.

Ivory Coast brings power and creativity through the likes of Odilon Kossounou, Wilfried Singo, Hamed Traorè, and Ousmane Diomande, while veteran Nicolas Pépé remains a dangerous attacking option.

Elsewhere, Egypt will once again look to Mohamed Salah, while Omar Marmoush adds another dimension to their representation. Gabonese star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is back for another campaign, while Cameroon’s Frank Anguissa, Christian Kofane, and Mario Lemina keep the Indomitable Lions visible at the top level.

There will also be talents from Algeria, such as Ramy Bensebaini, Fares Chaibi, and Amine Gouiri, as well as Tunisia’s Ellyes Skhiri and Elias Achouri. From further south, Mozambique’s Geny Catamo and Bruno Langa, Zimbabwe’s Munashe Garananga, Liberia’s Murphy Dorley, and Angola’s Leandro Andrade all add to the wide African mix.

With so many African players across the competition, this season promises to be one of the most vibrant yet for the continent. From the veterans looking to cement their legacy to the youngsters eager to announce themselves, the Champions League will once again be a showcase of African excellence.
