Africa-Press – Kenya. Agano Party presidential candidate, David Mwaure, has conceded defeat even before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announces the winner.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, August 14, Mwaure claimed that there was a plan to interfere with the ongoing verification of results at the National Tallying Centre (NTC) at the Bomas of Kenya.

Mwaure, who called for the stoppage of the tallying by the IEBC, argued that the commotion experienced at the Bomas of Kenya on Saturday night, August 13, was aimed at creating confusion and altering the outcome of the results.

He further noted that his party had done a tallying of the results as uploaded on the IEBC portal.

“Dear Kenyans we wish to concede defeat in the 2022 presidential elections. This we are doing after seeing what our performance has been,” Mwaure stated.

The Agano Party leader also went ahead and endorsed UDA Presidential candidate, Dr William Ruto, as the IEBC conducts the vote tallying at Bomas of Kenya.

“As we concede we endorse the winning friend, his excellency Dr William Samoei Ruto as the leading candidate. We urged the IEBC to be fervent in declaring his win when it is time to do so. We support him because his manifesto agrees with ours,” he added.

He stated that he supports Ruto because he supports freedom of worship and on the need to ensure “Kenya remains a god-fearing” nation.

Mwaure’s call to the IEBC comes amid the chaos that was witnessed on Saturday, August 14, at the National Tallying Centre in Bomas following accusations of malpractice among the commission’s officials.

Azimio La Umoja and Kenya Kwanza engaged in a shouting match and a scuffle also ensued due to gadgets and other materials that were in the auditorium.

Although the IEBC moved to contain the unruly behaviour by politicians the same kind of behaviour was witnessed at night with politicians and their agents disregarding the mandate by IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati.

Azimio La Umoja Raila Odinga’s chief agent Saitabao Ole Kanchory had clashed with police who had denied him access to the tallying area and he referred to the auditorium as a crime scene.
