Babu Owino Predicts Ndindi Nyoro Joins Kenya Moja

Africa-Press – Kenya. Kiharu Member of Parliament, Ndindi Nyoro, will join the newly formed Third Force, ending months of speculation over what the once vocal supporter of President William Ruto is planning next.

This is according to Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino, who on Monday hinted that talks are ongoing for Ndindi Nyoro to join their alliance.

In an interview with Citizen TV, Babu Owino, alongside Saboti lawmaker Caleb Amisi, gave insights into an emerging group of youthful and outspoken politicians who are moving under the Kenya Moja banner.

The movement, nicknamed the Third Force, comprises perceived political rebels from both the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

One notable aspect about the Third Force is that its ‘co-founders’ are all politicians who have been vocal against the Kenya Kwanza government, despite belonging to the very same parties that are in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

“I have been speaking to Ndindi Nyoro. And he will soon be part of this movement,” Owino revealed. “More importantly, Kenyans will be part of this movement.”

The political movement initially began as a loose network of sections of leaders who were vocal against the government during the height of anti-government protests in June and July 2025. Central to their concerns is the growing frustration linked with being led by the political ‘godfathers’ and a system which they claim is not serving Kenyans, particularly the younger generation.

During the interview, Amisi brought this dynamic to light by claiming, “This is a struggle of change between the old and the new.”

Asked whether he was rebelling against ODM, whose leader, Raila Odinga, largely helped further his political career, Babu Owino dismissed the notion, insisting that he and his new allies were simply going with what was democratic.

“We are not rebelling in ODM. We are working within the principles of democracy, and the D in ODM stands for “Democracy”. Therefore, it is not really rebelling,” Babu Owino insisted.

Amisi, who is also strongly affiliated with ODM, also suggested that since the leaders started forming agendas of their own, they have been subjected to threats from their parent political vehicles.

“Some of us have been subjected to threats. But we’re not scared. We’ve been forced to develop a thick skin,” he said.

Amisi further insisted that the group will form a political party if the political climate calls for it, but that is not on the cards at the moment.

As for Ndindi Nyoro, it is unclear whether or not he will quit UDA, and he has yet to publicly comment on the planned union. Our efforts to reach him went unanswered.

Once a close ally of President William Ruto, his fall from the UDA hierarchy has been spectacular, culminating in the loss of his position as Chairperson of the powerful Budget and Appropriations Committee.

Similarly, the likes of Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, who was also once an ardent supporter of opposition figure Rigathi Gachagua, are also seemingly plugging away quietly and have been seen with embattled ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna on several occasions, which is a strong hint that the leaders are ready to forge their own political paths.
