Africa-Press – Kenya. Police in Bahati, Nakuru county are investigating the identity of three people whose decomposing bodies were found along the road near Dundori forest on Friday evening.

The bodies were found by casual labourers who were clearing the bush along the Nakuru-Dundori road and alerted the police.

Bahati OCPD Samson Adanje said the bodies of three unidentified men had bruises and had decomposed making it hard to identify them.

Adanje said the victims may have been killed elsewhere and the bodies dumped at the scene as no lost persons have been reported in the area.

“When we arrived at the scene, we found the three bodies of middle aged men who were lying close to each other. The bodies have decomposed and have kind of similar injuries inflicted on them which we will prove what really happened during the postmortem,” Adanje said.

“This is an isolated area along the road and similar cases of bodies being disposed of there have been reported. We will intensify patrol so that such incidents do not happen again.”

Residents of Dundori have decried lack of security in the area with similar incidents on the rise near the Dundori forest.

The residents said the section of the road which passes through Dundori forest is isolated with a deep thicket along it hence attracting criminal activities.

They have urged security agencies to beef up security in the area and intensify patrol so that similar incidences do not occur in the future.

The bodies were moved to the Nakuru municipal mortuary awaiting postmortem to establish the cause of death.
