Africa-Press – Kenya. Kenya on Wednesday recorded 28 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country’s case load to 322,545, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said.

The CS in a press briefing confirmed that this was from a sample size of 5,617 recording a positivity rate of 0.5 per cent.

The cumulative tests stand at 3,310,294.

The country’s fatalities have risen to 5,633 after another one patient succumbed to the disease.

Kagwe said that there are 150 patients currently admitted in various hospitals across the country. Another, 628 patients are on the home-based care programme.

A total of four patients are in ICU, out of which three are on ventilatory support.

Also, 28 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, out of which 25 are in general wards and three in the HDU.

Meanwhile, 52 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 40 were from the Homebased care program while 12 were discharged from various health facilities.

Kenya’s recoveries now stand at 302,918.

VACCINATION CAMPAIGN

A total of 15,786,496 vaccines have been administered across the country. 7,553,155 are partially vaccinated while 7,186,675 are fully vaccinated. Another 795,531 doses have been administered to those between 15 to 17 years & 235,123 are booster doses.

A total of 125,082 vaccines have been administered in the last 24 hours & 62,814 people have been fully vaccinated.

The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose is at 63.0 per cent.

Proportion of adults fully vaccinated is 26.4 per cent.
