Africa-Press – Kenya. Foreign Affairs CS Alfred Mutua has visited the Kenyan embassy in Berlin, Germany, ahead of President William Ruto’s arrival. Accompanied by PS for Foreign Affairs Korir Sing’Oei and PS State Department for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu, Mutua met with the ministry’s staff serving in Germany.

They were briefed on and discussed the program of Ruto’s visit. “Kenyan Ambassador to Germany Thomas Omollo guided us through the various programs and the benefits for Kenya as we plan for successful Kenya-German meetings,” Mutua said in a tweet on Sunday.

He noted that Germany was the first country to establish diplomatic relations with Kenya after independence. Kenya gained independence in 1963, 2023 marks 60 years since then.

About the ties, the CS informed that the number plate of the German Ambassador to Kenya is 1 CD. Ruto’s tour to Germany will be dominated by trade talks.

“Renewable energy, green industrialization and trade will be Ruto’s agenda in his foreign visit,” State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said in a statement.

Mutua said they are looking forward to the discussions. “We are quite excited at the prospects of engaging in economic and trade benefits with the world’s fourth richest economy,” he said.
