Africa-Press – Kenya. The Directorate of Criminal Investigation women’s volleyball team feels disappointed after the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization championship was not played according to coach Daniel Bor.

The annual regional assignment was held in Rwanda from March 21-27 but women’s volleyball teams made a no-show for the week long event. This prompted the sleuths to play friendly matches with Rwanda National Police and Rwanda Revenue Authority. DCI won both matches 3-2 and 3-0 respectively.

Speaking on Thursday, a day after returning from Rwanda, Bor said: “We are upset that all other competitions took place but only women’s volleyball failed to be staged as planned but we have taken it under the chin.”

“We were well equipped to reclaim the title we won in 2018 in Tanzania but we now look forward to the Paul Bitok tournament,” he added.

Bor said the team gleaned valuable lessons from the test matches and wants the players to showcase their skills in the tournament. DCI return to training on April 3 in readiness for the April 8-9 assignment at the Moi Stadium Kasarani Indoor Arena.

“We appeal to foreign nations to attend the tournament. This will be a big test for us to also put into practice what we learnt in Rwanda. It will also help us access the progress of the players.”
