Africa-Press – Kenya. The drama was witnessed on Wednesday at Kamukunji Grounds after a suspected mugger was attacked by members of the public who had attended the meeting.

He was suspected to have stolen a mobile phone from people who were attending Azimio La Umoja’s Leader Raila Odinga rally.

Members of the public were seen grabbing his t-shirt, while others kicking him as he tried to protect himself from the beatings.

“He was caught stealing a mobile phone from one of us, and tried to cause violence,” a witness said.

On Tuesday, National Police Service said it will provide adequate security for the planned rallies.

In a statement, on the behalf of the Inspector General, Deputy IG Noor Gabow urged the attendants to maintain peace.

“However, any breach of the peace shall be dealt with in accordance with the law,” Gabow said.

Raila had vowed to reveal what transpired during the August 9 general election during the public consultative meeting.

He said they have gathered sufficient evidence and conducted a thorough research and probe on what saw President William Ruto declared the winner.
