Africa-Press – Kenya. Former West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio has urged the cabinet to adhere to President William Ruto’s working skills if they want to deliver. On Tuesday, the Former Majority Leader of the Senate said that the executive should now be charged to work and deliver for the people of Kenya.
“After the cabinet retreat, I hope Cabinet Secretaries and their PSs are now motivated and ready to run their dockets. If I were you I would watch how the president is working,” Poghisio said.
The former Senator also advised the cabinet to end nepotism and corruption. Poghisio reminded the state officers to pay attention to the marginalised communities.
“Give a fair chance to the marginalised. Be modest in your travels,” he added.

The COB report for the First Quarter of 2019-2020 revealed that parliament, the presidency, Foreign Affairs and the Interior docket were the big spenders in non-core areas.
According to the report, government ministries, agencies and departments spent Sh3.5 billion on domestic and foreign trips in the three months reviewed.
Parliament has often been criticised by the public and lobby groups for pocketing millions of shillings in allowances for sittings they didn’t attend as well as unjustified travels.
Travel is seen as a gravy train for government officials to take home fat allowances over and above their attractive salaries, thus increasing operating costs.
